Brian Christopher, the main character of BLACK ANGEL, is the real son and only child of the author. He was tragically killed at the age of 17 by a senseless act of gun violence. Norma Jean often wondered what Brian was doing in his afterlife and took pen to paper to write out various scenarios, which led to her debut novel, BLACK ANGEL. Born from personal experience and fantasy, BLACK ANGEL is a book for all ages but focuses on young people who face similar life situations of tragedy, grief, and dangers faced every day.
