If you do get any spots of rust on the blade of your Lord of the Rings sword replicas, use fine steel wool to remove it immediately, then oil the blade. 

  • Display the blade outside of its scabbard.

Displaying a sword with the blade in its scabbard is not only hiding much of the beauty of its sword, but it will also trap moisture near the blade. Therefore it’s best to display the sword with the blade exposed.

  • Don’t store the sword anywhere that it will be exposed to high humidity. 

High humidity causes rust on steel. Therefore, wherever you store or display the sword, make sure you choose a location that experiences low humidity most of the time.
