What's Good about Galaxy A31?

The Display

The best feature of this phone is the 6.4" Super AMOLED screen. The colors are bright, the blacks are dark, and the Full HD+ resolution ensures sharp text. The front camera is in a small U-shaped notch, making videos seem immersive. The only thing I don't like about scrolling is that it's a 60Hz refresh rate.

The Battery

The 5000mAh battery is capable of providing a single day of battery life. In an older test, GSMArena rated for endurance 124 hours, while iFixit timed at 22 hours of video playback. At 15W, the charging speed is also not too high, taking a long time for full charge.

The Extras

This Samsung Galaxy A31 Review also enjoys the features that are mostly ignored by many newer phones. The 3.5mm headphones jack, NFC and microSD card slot provide for additional storage.

Samsung Galaxy A31 Review: Performance and Software

The Helio P65 processor and 6GB RAM make it easy to make calls, access social media and stream videos. GSMArena reports that the chip is not a monster and even with the poor graphics, heavy games perform in an abysmal fashion. The device was preloaded with Android 10, and received updates until the Android 12 operating system was available, but is no longer being updated at this time. This translates to no new security patches in 2026.

Camera Quality

The 48MP main camera takes sharp, colourful photos in daylight. The 8MP ultra-wide lens captures more of a scene and the 5MP macro camera will allow you to take close-ups. Portrait blur is added by the 5MP depth sensor. Photos max at 1080p at 30fps and average in low-light conditions, video maxes at 1080p at 30fps. The 20MP selfie camera is good for the price.

The Samsung Galaxy A31 is priced in india

Galaxy A31 vs Newer Phones

Today's Samsung Galaxy A31 Review 2026 cannot be complete without talking about newer phones. Many phones today have 5G, faster processors, 90Hz or 120Hz screens, faster charging and active security support, all of which for a similar price. The A31 gets the highest rating in terms of AMOLED screen quality, headphone jack and the microSD slot, but they're at a very low cost.

Samsung Galaxy A31 Review - Pros and Cons

Should One Buy the Galaxy A31 2026?

There's only one answer to that: "only at a very low price. It's still fine for a display and battery, but it's a definite downer with the slow chip, slow charging and the lack of updates. It's perfect for a secondary cell, a cell for an aged member of the family, or perhaps a feature rich cell for phone calls and video calls.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy A31 is a decent budget device with a fine display and battery life but it's a little older than its younger cousin the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active.
